A Western Scrub Jay appreciating this fresh day. Almost a year has passed since the last rain. Finally, a drink for the trees, a shower for the birds. Hummingbirds, ravens, doves, finches, mockingbirds are all loving it. Earlier I stood outside with them listening to the sounds of raindrops hitting leaves and the earth, a raven fluffing her feathers and uttering melodic percussive drumming calls from the top of a telephone pole, hummingbirds impatiently buzzing my head as they whizzed back and forth between a feeder and their favorite perches. So lovely.
