 Rescued from Mexico, this courageous girl lost lost one hind leg and the back foot of the other in an act of violent abuse. Still, she maintains her dignity and trusts in those who've shown her kindness. Wynnie remains in the loving care of The REAL Bark rescue, who has had her fitted for prosthetics so she may walk once again and stride into her beautiful new life.
 Dryobates nuttallii  A woodpecker's tail feathers are particularly strong and rigid. They use them as a brace when pecking. They also have two toes pointing forward and two toes pointing backward giving them a solid grip when climbing trees.
  Archilochus alexandri Collecting nectar from purple sage at dusk. At a certain angle, their black chin feathers appear as iridescent purple, almost identical to the flowers.
