 My wonderful neighbor intercepted a man who was headed to the shelter with three newborn feral kittens in the trunk of his car. She lovingly bottle fed them. They stole the family's hearts. And they are living there happily ever after.
 Still happy, playful, healthy and hopeful, 14 year old Socks was left at the shelter. I noticed her when our eyes met as I passed by her kennel yesterday. I hate to say it, but her chances of being adopted are slim. She's been waiting a long time. Update: Rescued!   Enormous yuccas bloom high in the sky at Huntington Gardens, Pasadena.

 Rather than repair a hole in the fence, Perla's people left her at the shelter after she nipped the mailman. She has a new secure home now where her talents are appreciated.
