Presenting the Dune Stinkhorn

This is the mushroom that finally emerged from the eggs pictured in the May 27th post. The spores are contained in the green slime and are carried off by visiting flies who are attracted to its fetid odor. The eggs are supposedly edible, but I'm not at all tempted to try them!
